MS Dhoni Announces retirement from international cricket
Everyone’s beloved Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MSD) announces retirement from international cricket on 15th August 2020.
MSD posted an IGTV video on Instagram. Which captioned “Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout. from 1929 hrs consider me as Retired”. Dhoni left his fans with an emotional caption and a video. Which broke the internet within minutes.
#DhoniRetires became a trending topic on Twitter as Team India fans started to speculate about Dhoni’s retirement on the microblogging site. Arguably one of the best captains India has ever seen, Dhoni is yet to contemplate retirement and the wicketkeeper-batsman was eyeing a comeback to competitive cricket with Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
The 38-year-old former Indian skipper had led victory to India in the 2011 ICC World Cup and has been a favorite since then. MS is also the only captain to hold all the three ICC trophies. The future of MSD in the international format of cricket has been questioned after India faced defeat in the 2019 world cup. MSD thereafter had played no international matches had recently joined the practice session for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) an Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise.
MSD has a huge fan base overall India and has led the Indian Cricket Team to many victories under his legacy.
Dhoni will however be seen playing in the 13th edition of IPL scheduled in September 2020. He will lead CSK and would be seen behind the stumps.
His legacy will always be an inspiration to every former player aspiring to be a cricketer and forever be a proud moment for every Indian Cricket Fan.
With that said Mahendra Singh Dhoni retires from international cricket as the most successful captain in limited overs format.
